I use this stand every day! It is the perfect size to hold books, cell phones and tablets. The button on the back opens the stand. (white circle in photos) I love this feature! It keeps the stand from accidentally folding down on you, slamming your screen on the table.
The bottom holders are awesome with a place to go when not being used, so they are out of the way when not being used. They will hold both books and phones in place. The extender arms are various sizes to accommodate different sized items. This was fantastic for holding a cookbook. It is much sturdier than I expected. As the ad states, probably not the best choice for large books.
When closed, it measures 4.75in x 5in, expands to 11in with extender arms fully out on both sides. Each extender arm is about 3in long.
